The history of the traditional American company Simpson Race Products dates back to the 1950s, when racing driver Bill Simpson began developing post-injury products to make motorsport safer.
As a pioneer in motorsports and safety issues, the Simpson name has been synonymous with advanced technology to protect racing drivers. In addition to the latest innovations and new developments in head and neck protection systems, it is streamlined shapes, modern design and well thought out products that characterize the Simpson style.
Simpson Race Products has been in the motorsports safety business since 1959. It all started with parachutes for race cars. In 1967, Simpson was the first company to make flame retardant Nomex racing suits.

Simpson has for many years been the leading supplier of safety equipment for the world's most demanding motorsports, sports such as Drag Racing, Nascar and IndyCars.
